Husband, nagged over housework, stabs wife to death

KINABATANGAN: A woman was stabbed to death by her husband who became furious after she ticked him off for not helping her with the household chores.
He then turned the knife on himself and is in hospital in a critical condition, said Kinabatangan district police chief, DSP Martin Lugu on Thursday.
The incident happened at about 7pm on Wednesday at the workers' quarters of Genting Tanjung Plantation in Kampung Arau, about four hours by road from here.
"The woman known as Intan Bago, in her thirties, died at the scene, while her husband, also in his thirties, is in critical condition at Lahad Datu Hospital."
Martin said according to the initial investigation, the stabbing incident followed a heated argument between the Indonesian couple after hearing their young child crying.
He said the victim was in the kitchen when she scolded her husband for not helping her with the household chores.
"Angry after being called lazy, her husband rushed into the kitchen and stabbed her with a knife.
"The woman tried to save herself by running out but she collapsed near the back door. On seeing this, her husband panicked and tried to kill himself with the knife," he said
